Stanwell Moor

Project on the Moor
The Impact on the Moor Youth Club at Stanwell Moor began again in earnest on 2nd November with the help of three east to west 24/7 Transit Gap Year Students: Mick, Louise and Colin. The numbers are being increased again and we are set to take on new members this year. The Transit team have quickly built relationships with club members, crucial in helping those young people towards a faith in Jesus Christ. One of the most encouraging pieces of news is that Jonathan Hammond has been appointed as the Youth Worker and leader for the club and is due to start at the beginning of this month.
Jonathan brings a host of skills to the post! He also has great enthusiasm and energy that is much needed for the work in Stanwell Moor to expand for there is no physical church or youth club provision in the village other than what east to west provides. The most exciting piece of news for the youth of the village is that we are planning for Jonathan to start up a youth club for older teenagers.

Huge thanks must go to Victor Agarwal, the County Councillor, who has along with other borough councillors, been generously supporting the youth work on the Moor for several years now. Another way of shaping the ministry on the Moor came through Nicola Birch from Spelthorne and Janet Hill from Surrey County Council who came to the club and videoed the youth club children. Various members of the club were interviewed about their opinions of what life for them is like in the village. They also had an opportunity to put forward their opinions and ideas on graffiti boards. The information has helped shape both ours and the Borough’s thoughts about the way forward. Things are definitely looking up for Stanwell Moor with many more people taking an interest in the community. All that east to west has achieved in the village is appreciated by many residents.
