For over a decade, east to west has been at the forefront of innovative and cutting edge youth work. In a society that constantly changes, so must our methods of reaching out and helping the young people who live within that evolutionary cycle.
With a reputation for daring creativity, east to west has delivered outstanding results through projects such as the Relational Schools Youth Workers who befriend, support and mentor young people throughout their school lives.
east to west Trust endeavours to make a positive and real difference in the lives of young people within the Borough of Spelthorne and Runnymede. There are all too many young people in every walk of our society who every day suffer problems and difficulties that are beyond their capabilities to solve.
All our efforts have and will be aimed at bringing hope to these young people, many of whom would otherwise have all but lost theirs.
Therefore, ethos of east to west is the engine that drives the entire organisation; it is why we do what we do. We are inspired by the message, life and example of Jesus Christ.
We believe Jesus came to be in relationship with people, so He inspires us to have a relational ethos.
We are inspired by Jesus in the way we engage and work with each other and those around us. Jesus inspires us to pursue and to be our Mission Statement of bringing Hope to Young Lives.
Integrity
We seek to be truthful and honest in all we do. We seek to be open and transparent about our faith and the link that our faith has to why we do what we do. In other words – ‘we do who we are’.
Compassionate
Our work and relationships are fuelled by the compassion that we read of and the experience we have of Jesus Christ. It is this compassion that compels us to engage with a world of need and of suffering.
Devoted
We believe in full and meaningful devotion to God and to each other. Therefore we seek to be fully devoted to every young person that we connect with; seeing and treating them as images of God who merit our full inclusive focus and care.
Creative
We seek to see things from a fresh perspective and to find fresh ways to address and respond to new opportunities or needs. We aim to be flexible in our outworking in order that we can be as creatively responsive as possible knowing that life and individuals come in varying formats and shapes.
Selfless
Our faith in Jesus Christ calls us to act Christ-like, one of the foundational characteristics of Christ is His act of selflessness. We seek therefore to be selfless in our service to others seeking to put the needs of others before own.
Fun
We want to be energetic and positive people, fun to be with and fun to work with.
