Thomas Knyvett College Relational Support Team Leader

east to west is a Christian charity of Justice, Mercy and Compassion reaching out to vulnerable and 'at risk' young people and families. east to west sees itself as a community of both paid and voluntary Christians who outwork our mission and passion in partnership with the Local Church.

Reporting to: Operations Manager of east to west

Contract Duration: 1st October 2010 – 31st August 2011. If by January the role is working an extension of 3 years maybe applied.

Hours: 3 days (22.5 hours) per week, Academic contract (AC) term time working only

Salary: £12,000 – £13,800 per annum - (FTE £20,000 - £23,000) (AC rates) pro rata dependent on qualification and experience. A percentage of salary must be raised through sponsorship.

Overview:

The role of the Thomas Knyvett College Relational Support Team Leader is to manage the delivery of east to west's work in the college. They will also manage, deliver and facilitate pastoral support to vulnerable and 'at risk' students and line manage the work of the east to west College Chaplain. The Support Team Leader's measures of success will be demonstrated in the increased numbers of young people receiving pastoral and developmental support and the outcomes that the work brings. The Team Leader will work in partnership with the college, local churches and east to west affiliated organisations who could operate from a communal office, who together work for the betterment of the college.

Successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills and a minimum of 5 years experience of working with young people and a minimum of a level 3 NVQ in youth and community work.

GOR (Genuine Occupational Requirements):It is required for the purposes for this role that the CSFSW is a committed and practising Christian as the role is an extension of the local churches outreach and commitment to young people. Therefore the ethos of the Trust and local church must be able to be expressed and delivered with all integrity which the Trust believe can only be exercised by a committed and practising Christian.

Police Community Youth Pastor

The Police Community Youth Pastor post works with the Egham Neighbourhood Team Surrey

Reporting to: Operations Manager of east to west

Contract Duration: 1st October 2010 – 31st August 2011. If by January the role is working an extension of 3 years maybe applied.

Hours: 37.5 or 22.5 hour week, flexibility required to respond to outworking of role

Salary: £18,000 – £23,000 - Dependant on qualification and experience. A percentage of salary must be raised through sponsorship.

Overview:

The role of the Police Community Youth Pastor (PCYP) is to is address the issues of youth crime and antisocial behaviour in the Egham Neighbourhood Area. This will be done by working in partnership with the local churches, police, school and council to meet the needs of those vulnerable young people involved in criminality. The PCYP will through 1-2-1 or group work seek to engage young people into positive activities with the desired outcome that all will have a chance to know their worth and to reach their potential. The PCYP will also support local youth projects or initiatives that are run by the churches and police.
